Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA),
defined plainly.
One term, one honest explanation — from the shop that deals with it daily.
Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA): Asphalt produced at a plant around 300°F and placed while hot, then compacted before it cools. It's the standard material for driveways, parking lots and roads.
Why it matters on your job: Temperature is everything: haul time and weather figure into how we schedule far-side jobs so the mat still compacts properly on arrival.
