Hot-applied crack sealing, patching and hot-patch pothole repair — the work that stops water from reaching the base. Water in the base is how small cracks become alligatored patches and potholes, especially with Valley irrigation cycles wetting and drying expansive soils under the slab edge. Caught early, repair is the highest-return dollar in pavement care; caught late, it becomes repaving.

How repairs get done.

Cracks get cleaned with compressed air or heat lance, filled with hot rubberized sealant (Crafco-grade — we distribute the stuff) so it bonds to the walls, and struck flush. Failed sections get cut out and hot-patched. And we’re honest about the line: a lattice of hairline alligatoring needs patching or overlay, not caulk — we’ll tell you which side of it your surface is on.

When is crack sealing worth it?

Any crack wider than a pencil that runs more than a foot or two — and ideally before the rainy season. One afternoon of crack work routinely adds years to a surface.

Can you fix potholes permanently?

A hot patch done right — squared edges, tack coat, compacted hot mix — is a permanent repair. Cold-patch from a bag is a winter stopgap, and we'll tell you when that's all a spot needs until a proper patch can be scheduled.
