Class II Aggregate Base,
defined plainly.
One term, one honest explanation — from the shop that deals with it daily.
Class II Aggregate Base: Caltrans-spec crushed rock graded from fines to 3/4-inch, the standard engineered base under California pavement. It locks together under compaction.
Why it matters on your job: When our quote says Class II at a stated depth, you can compare bids on substance — 'gravel' is not a spec.
