Tack Coat: A thin sprayed layer of asphalt emulsion that glues a new lift of asphalt to an existing surface or to patch edges.
Why it matters on your job: Skipping tack is a classic shortcut that lets patches and overlays delaminate — you'll never see it done on our jobs.
